If
you had to choose, which would you choose, Linen or Steel?

Perhaps
Steel? -it appears stronger, tougher, and its usage easily imaginable.

But
first instincts are often deceiving.

Dig
deeper, and we learn…. We think of Linen with our 21st century eyes,
with a view to tablecloths, sheets, and simple niceties, adding to but not
necessary for life. But if we look
through the lineage of man, Linen has been around for more than 30,000
years. It has been used by the
Mesopotamians, Sumerians, Egyptians, the Roman Empire. It was
used to make books, shields, sails, and was integral to the survival of
humanity. Without it, we would not
exist.

When
you first see the painting, the Linen, flows like the very cloth it represents,
but it is far stronger than you anticipate, for it is made of a processed and
hand bent form of steel….

We
need both in our lives, just as we need the support of those whose qualities
are different than our own – the strongest love is built upon two very
different souls bringing their greatest strength to the other. Lifting the other beyond what they could
achieve alone.

The
perfect answer is both Linen and Steel.
